Cavitts Creek Park and Lake Jack Witten

Nature at its best is tucked in the heart of Tazewell County, Virginia where Cavitt’s Creek Park and Lake Jack Witten are located.  Three hundred acres of pristine natural beauty are combined with amenities to meet the needs for any outdoor recreation or camping enthusiast.  It is home to one of eight sites on the Mountain Heritage Loop of the Virginia Birding and Wildlife Trail where one can see many migratory and native species of birds such as Killdeer, Geese, Cardinal, Blue Jay, Robin, Swallows, and many different species of ducks.

The Park is a sanctuary for white-tail deer, wild turkeys, rabbits, squirrels and other creatures.  The 54 acre, category “A” stocked lake has an abundance of largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, sunfish, catfish, stocked trout and walleyes for the fishermen.  Other amenities include recreational vehicle camping sites, primitive camping sites, bathhouses with showers and laundry, playground equipment, paddle boats kayak and “john” boat rentals, boat ramps for electric motor driven boats and picnic shelters.  Cavitt’s Creek Park and Lake Jack Witten provide enjoyment for the entire family.  Park is ADA compliant.
